J bought these guitar strings recently, which he proudly displayed in the living room, and keeps going on and on about their “Polyweb” coating or whatever and how awesome they are. Seriously, look at that box! Elixir?! “Long life?!” Every single time I glance over in that direction I’m all, “Who the HELL put a box of condoms on our bookshelf?”

honestly, the Elixer Nanoweb’s are better…much thinner, so you can really feel it.

Are they made of lamb skin?

I’m glad to see you’ve got a nice mix of classics and modern heavy hitters on your bookshelf: Darwin, Fitzgerald, David Foster Wallace, Dave Barry.

A really good marketing ploy would be to sell the strings and the condoms in the same box. “These guitar strings will make your playing so awesome, you’ll need THESE after your show.”
All the sullen, aspiring rock star teenagers would be totally swayed.

Um, yep… that was my first thought, and my second was, “Well, I guess they don’t want anymore kids…”

Do you realize how long we could all have a giggle about this as though we are back in high school? This enters Cara’s pantheon of photos. And even more, the pantheon of boxes that just asked for it.
“I’m pregnant.”
“But we used the 80/20 bronze Elixir!”
“But you used it five times.”
“Well, it said ‘long life.’ Let me play you a song and you will forget all about it for a while.”
*PAUSE*
“Damn, the light string on the guitar broke, too. Huh. How could that be?”

I must admit that I saw the photos of Nora holding the Elixir box before I read this post…those photos raised some definite questions for me.
