I don’t think I’m going to be able to write any blog posts or, I am ashamed to admit, do any work, until I finish the new Harry Potter book. I didn’t want it to be this way. I wanted to be better than this. Cooler. Less prone to reading frenzies involving books that I once refused to read because I “do not read children’s books.”
Luckily, as I’ve become oblivious to all other duties since starting “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” I’ll be done, and back to normal, soon. Back to working on kind of important things, like what I’m going to be doing for work in a month, and where we’re going to live when we move. You know, stuff like that. But I’ve decided that since I’m just going to be distracted and unable to concentrate on any activity except reading until I finish, well, then I might as well just forge ahead. Right? Yeah, that’s what I thought. I might as well read another chapter. Or twelve.

The next problem, once you’re done reading it, will be that it’s over. Trust me.

i’m right there with you cara. i was very proud of myself for not picking it up immediately when it arrived on saturday, but i still read more than i intended to that night. as i get closer to the end i find myself going slower and slower…i just don’t want it to be over…yet at the same time desperately want to know what happens…it’s tough. good luck to you and can’t wait to discuss when we’ve both made it through! :)

Just finished it myself this a.m., and I loved it!! I’m sorry the series has come to an end…finishing the last book is definitely bittersweet.
I wasn’t going to pick it up right away either, but I got caught up in all the hype and bought it Saturday at Walmart. Yesterday I planned to spend the entire day at the beach finishing it, but at the last minute made plans to meet a girlfriend of mine there and ended up spending the day chatting and catching up. I have to admit I couldn’t wait to get to bed last night to continue reading..and even woke up a few times during the night to read “just a few” more chapters!
Now the dilemma…what am I going to read tonight!!!
ENJOY!

My wife was done by 2 a.m. Sunday. I’m still getting through half-blood prince here and there when I can.
We have a unwritten rule in our family…you can’t watch the movie or read the book, unless you read the book before it. (Our daughter gets to slide, a little.)

Once again, I declare you are no longer allowed to make fun of me for playing World of Warcraft.
Thanks.

I’ll stop making fun of you, if you just worry about keeping an eye on Teddy - make sure he’s not levitating things or talking to snakes in a strange hissing voice.

Tom… you know what would be ultra lame? If you read harry potter in world of warcraft. Dork.

Personally, I think Justin should just start playing Warcraft, and make himself a warlock that looks like Potter…or whatever his favorite charater is.

Where did you go? There’s no way it took a week to read the book. lol
